Carrying herself with far more elegance than normal, Haizansha walked through the Tanabata streets. The lantern floats could be seen looming in the distance and the smell of street vendors peddling their meals filled the air. Her hair, usually worn short for practicality, was now resting at it's full length and her normal attire replaced with a simple, blue yukata. She had been looking forward to the night for some time now as it not only gave her an excuse to see Nanashi, something she was always glad to have, but also the anonymity that came with festivities. The castes mingled during these nights and, even if for just a small time, they were nearly forgotten. The sound of fireworks drowned out any insults that could be thrown. The smell of the street vendors entirely masked the stale iron smell of old blood. She always enjoyed festivals but this was the first one she'd get to share with Nanashi as a couple. Last year at this time she had not had the guts to ask her now girlfriend out. Laughing at her past self, the Kiri mutt made her way toward a stall selling kintsuba. Buying herself some of the sweet bean-paste filled dough, Haizansha wondered if Nanashi still hated them or not. They were her favorites but the last time she had tried to share, Nanashi had practically vomited. She laughed at the memory before moving to another stall to buy her some karaage. Hopefully Nanashi would get there before it got cold. She was already a few minutes late but that was nothing Haizansha wasn't used to and had come to expect as much.

She looked around the festival, eager eyes hoping to find a familiar brunette mane among the crowd.

Nanashi stood for a moment scowling at the edges of her kimono, which were becoming frayed from how much she had twisted them in her hands. It was a horrible nervous habit that ruined almost all of her clothes. Usually she wouldn't care, but she was actually trying to look somewhat presentable on this day. This day she was meeting Haizansha at the festival, in public, during one of the few times of the year they could both metaphorically and literally let their hair down and maybe even relax a little bit. Seeing Haizansha itself gave her butterflies still, but the whole situation created so many potential things that could go wrong it was hard not to feel tense. She had to look nice, and she was worried she was ruining it. She shoved her hands under her armpits as she walked, continuing to scowl.

She melted a little bit and her arms softened to her sides the moment she saw Haizansha. She glanced down, trying to not look too long and hide a blush. She walked up and bumped against her gently. "Hi," she said shortly, then a moment later gave her a small smile. "It's good to see you." It looked like Haizansha had gotten her karaage, one of her favorite foods and a rare treat in her life, which only added to the burning sensation trying to take over her cheeks. She looked everywhere but Haizansha for a second. "This looks nice," she said, then landed her eyes on Haizansha. "So do you."
